We all experience times in our lives in which we feel stuck, un-motivated, void of energy and without a sense of direction. It is during these times that we often feel like we are no longer in control of our lives and thus unable to follow our “heart’s desire”.
These “low” feelings often result in physical manifestations of body aches and pains as well as illnesses that do not have a valid medical cause. It is common for these “low emotional feelings” to exhibit themselves physically as headaches, fatigue, and muscle stiffness (specifically in the back), just to name a few.
Such blockages to healthy physical well-being, are often accompanied by a breakdown in communication with those who we are really close to and truly love. Often this is when everything can seem to be hopeless and dark.
The good news is that this is often times part of the process of personal growth. By working through these “issues” – and refocusing the “negative” energy into something that is positive for you, breakthroughs in your life’s plan can miraculously manifest. Of course, it is necessary to look at causes, hurts and wounds, while focusing on the potential for what is trying to grow.
It is at these times that a guide or therapist can help us rediscover what brings happiness into our lives and what we can do to express our true potential.
In Psychosynthesis (the main model of guidance that we use), the word “guide” is often used in preference to the term "therapist". The word therapist has connotations of someone (often in a white coat), who "does something to us". A Psychosynthesis guide works with the client to help them be their own best therapist, without the use of debilitating medicines such as Prozac.
Sessions are usually conducted on an individual basis and person to person, however because of long distances and individual circumstances it is possible to conduct sessions using email and even video and audio conferencing.
